Hi, I’m Fr. Aristotle Quan, a priest at St. Edward’s the Confessor Church in Dana Point, California. I’m here to share homilies that inspire and bring peace to your day. Whether you’re part of our parish or just visiting, I hope these messages help you feel closer to God’s love. Feel free to listen, reflect, and share. My prayer is that these homilies uplift you and remind you of God’s presence in your life.

Tuesday Mass. 6.16.26.
In this homily, I walk through the story of King Ahab, Elijah, and what happens when God calls us to account for our sins. Sin is serious — but so is God's mercy. I reflect on the two extremes I see in the Church: those who are so afraid of God they can't approach Him, and those who are so comfortable they've stopped caring. The truth is both-and. God loves us too much to leave us in our sin, and His mercy is always available to those who repent.

Sunday Mass. 6.14.26.
Ordinary Time is not a waiting room. In this homily, I reflect on what it means to be sent by Jesus — and why your everyday life is the mission.

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. 6.12.26.
Homily for the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus. We all fear the cross — but what if suffering is actually a sign of God's love, not His absence? Drawing from the lives of St. Margaret Mary and St. Faustina, I reflect on what it means to be invited into the heart of Jesus and learn to love like He loves.

Wednesday Mass. 6.10.26.
In this homily, I reflect on the dramatic showdown between Elijah and the four hundred fifty prophets of Baal — and what it reveals about our own struggle with false gods. The Israelites aren't so different from us. Our idols just look different today.

Monday Mass. 6.08.26.
In this homily, I reflect on the story of Elijah and how God provided for him even in hiding — and what that means for us today. The pattern of God's people in Scripture is our pattern too: we drift, we struggle, and yet God remains faithful. Faithfulness isn't about the big moments. It's built in the small ones, day after day, as we journey through ordinary time with Jesus.

The Feast of Corpus Christi. 6.07.26.
In this homily for Corpus Christi, I reflect on the Eucharist as the New Testament manna — not a symbol, but the real presence of Jesus Christ. If He is truly there, everything changes.

Monday mass. 6.01.26.
In this homily, I reflect on the feast of St. Justin Martyr — a philosopher who searched for truth until he found it in Christ — and connect his story to what St. Peter tells us in the first reading: that we are called to share in the divine nature of God.

Sunday Mass. Feast of the Holy Trinity. 5.31.26.
On Trinity Sunday, I walk through each reading to show how the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit reveal a God who is not distant but personal—a family of love inviting us in. From Moses on the mountain, to Paul's greeting in Corinthians, to John 3:16, everything points to a God who gave everything out of love. The Trinity isn't just a doctrine to believe; it's a life to live.

Wednesday mass. 5.27.26.
In this homily, I reflect on how only the Holy Spirit can bring light to the suffering and trials we face. Using the gospel where the disciples ask to be number one right after Jesus announces his own death, I explore how easily we chase blessings while avoiding the cross — and why we can't get Easter without it. The Spirit's gift of knowledge helps us see our situation through God's eyes, even when it makes no sense to the world.

Tuesday Mass. 5.26.26.
In this homily, I reflect on how easy it is to take our Catholic faith for granted. St. Peter reminds his community — and us — that the prophets longed for what we already have. Jesus promises a hundredfold return to those who give up everything for the gospel. As we enter Ordinary Time, I invite you to rediscover the extraordinary gift of the faith — and to live it with the joy of St. Philip Neri, so that others may be drawn to the Church.
